CSB Swimmers for NCAA Championship

Along with the recent UAAP season opening, another event is simultaneously happening in the college level in sports. What I am talking about is the NCAA. Why would it be of interest to us? Well simply because our brother school the College of Saint Benilde is competing in it too. Also in the secondary level La Salle Greenhills is there to represent the La Sallian community.

Today is quite a rainy day and it may seem like outdoor sports events might be postponed, but not the swimming event. So don't wonder if you hear cheers of people from the Rizal Memorial Stadium swimming pool that is beside the Yuchengco building.

Their competition starts 1:00pm today and will continue on Saturday and Tuesday next week. The CSB Swimming Team may have been doing poorly the past seasons but this season may prove to be a break from their poor state. Their coach, Coach Loi is quite enthusiastic about this year's batch of swimmers. They have grown stronger and more solid as a team and have very strong recruits and transferees who are also veterans in the sport.

You may have recently heard a student of CSB being stabbed and killed. That student was actually Bembol Paraiso, the Swimming Team team captain of Benilde. He was quite a fast swimmer and aside from loosing points from loosing him, he was also very dear to the team and everyone in the team suffered great emotional damage. You would think that with that incident the other swimmers would already be unable to perform well but they know that they need to show everyone that no one messes with them. They know that winning this NCAA or at least doing good in it would be what Bembol would have wanted.
